Watching a render

The live view: frames as they finish, the log, resource graphs, downloads, extra outputs and stopping early.

Once a pod is live, the job page updates itself over a direct connection to the render machine.

Frames

  • Each frame appears the moment it is uploaded, with the time it took.
  • Click any frame for a full-size lightbox with next / previous.
  • Download a single frame, or all frames as one zip.
  • Frames rendered by an earlier launch of the same job show under From previous renders rather than being thrown away.
  • Video jobs have no live previews. Blender writes one file at the end, which appears as a player with a download button.

Extra outputs

Anything written by compositor File Output nodes, multi-layer EXRs and similar is collected after the render and offered as a single zip.

Log and resource graphs

  • The live log is the curated stream: setup, per-frame timings, warnings, errors.
  • The raw machine log is available as a fallback if the curated log goes quiet, and refreshes every 10 seconds while open.
  • Live CPU, GPU, VRAM and RAM readouts, switchable between bars and graphs. VRAM close to the card's limit on a scene that then dies is the signature of running out of memory.
Reading the first minutesA machine typically boots and prepares in a couple of minutes. If Preparing goes on much longer, it is usually a very large download. Preparing is not billed, so waiting costs nothing.

Stopping and restarting

Destroy pod
Stops the machine immediately. Billing runs until it is actually destroyed, there is no free pause. Finished frames are kept.
Relaunch
Available once the machine is gone. Rents a fresh machine for the same job, without re-uploading anything. After a failure, the machine that failed is excluded from the next pick.
Edit files
Destroys the machine and opens the edit view, where render settings and files can be changed before relaunching. See Editing and relaunching.

Renders, frames and logs are kept for 30 days. Rate your render afterwards if you like, it is the fastest signal we get about what to fix.
