Comparison

blender.farm vs GarageFarm.NET

Figures read from their pricing page, their Blender page and their render cost calculator on 1 September 2026.

  • Before you installour add-on reads your .blend and returns time and cost. Theirs needs an OctaneBench run first.
  • 1 rateone price per render hour, against their three priority tiers
  • 60 / 30 / 15their node count by tier, against one dedicated RTX 5090 that never queues

What the rate depends on

Their GPU pricing, reproduced as published. The rate moves with the priority tier you pick, and so does the number of nodes your job is allowed.

GarageFarm.NET published rates, as read on their own pages
PriorityGPU rateNodes per job
Low$0.004 / OctaneBench-hour15 nodes
Medium$0.006 / OctaneBench-hour30 nodes
High$0.012 / OctaneBench-hour60 nodes

High Priority is exactly three times Low Priority for the same hour of rendering on the same node.

Ours is around $3.00 per render hour on your first job and $2.25 on the largest credit pack, which costs $149.99. There is no faster tier.

Their rate is per OctaneBench-hour and ours is per render hour, so the two numbers are not comparable and are deliberately not printed side by side. An OctaneBench-hour becomes a price per render hour only once you know the benchmark score of the node your job lands on, which is why their calculator asks you to run OctaneBench yourself first.

Knowing the cost

GarageFarm

  1. 1Download OctaneBench
  2. 2Run it on your own GPU
  3. 3Pick the OctaneBench version, 4 / 2020.1 / 2025.2
  4. 4Render test frames locally for an average frame time
  5. 5Choose three toggles: scene loading, FPE, 33% Blender discount
  6. 6Read the estimate

Their calculator states the results are estimates only, in no way represent actual cost, and that a difference between the estimate and the job cost is not a basis for a refund.

blender.farm

  1. 1Install the add-on
  2. 2It reads your .blend
  3. 3Time and cost

You do not need a benchmark of your own machine to find out what our machine costs.

Where blender.farm wins

  • You know the cost before you commit. The add-on reads your .blend and estimates time and cost. No OctaneBench run, no local test frames.
  • A rate you can budget with. A flat price per render hour, not an OctaneBench-hour you have to convert first.
  • No tier to pick. Their headline rate is Low Priority, 15 nodes, and High Priority costs three times as much per hour.
  • The card is named before the job runs. Every render here is a full RTX 5090 with 32 GB. Their fleet spans five configurations from a 20 GB RTX 4000 Ada upward, assigned by tier.
  • Your exact Blender version. Matched to your file, or the job is refused rather than approximated. Geometry nodes behave the way they do locally.
  • Frames stream back as they finish, so a wrong camera shows up in frame two, not at the end.
  • Billing only while Blender runs. Uploading, downloading and sitting idle cost nothing.

What they cover and we do not

  • Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D and Houdini, with the engines that go with them. We run stock Blender on purpose.
  • 96 GB of VRAM on their top configuration. Every job here gets a full 32 GB, which covers most Blender scenes but not all of them.
  • One job across many machines. Up to 60 nodes on High Priority. We give you one card that does not queue, so on a long animation their fleet finishes sooner.
  • Sixteen years of operating history and 24/7 chat. We are new and we answer on Discord.
  • A 33% Blender discount on top of the rates above, which their pricing page does not mention and their Blender page does.

Know the cost before you upload, one rate, and frames as they finish.
