blender.farm vs Fox Renderfarm

Figures read from their pricing page and their membership scheme on 1 September 2026.

  • $1.80 → $0.90their published GPU rate per node hour, top tier to bottom
  • $10,000accumulated recharge to reach the tier they mark Recommended
  • 1 rateours, from your first job, on a card we name

What the rate depends on

Their GPU pricing, reproduced as published. The rate is not a function of the job. It is a function of how much you have already spent with them.

Fox Renderfarm published rates, as read on their own pages
TierPer node, per hourUnlocked by
Ordinary$1.80New accounts
Silver$1.44Accumulated recharge over $500
Gold$1.26Accumulated recharge over $2,000
Platinum$1.08Accumulated recharge over $5,000
DiamondRecommended$0.90Accumulated recharge over $10,000

Every new account renders at $1.80 per node per hour. The rate improves as you spend, and the lowest one is reached at ten thousand dollars.

Ours is around $3.00 per render hour on your first job and $2.25 on the largest credit pack, which costs $149.99. It does not move with what you have spent before.

Their rate is per node per hour, and their own documentation states a GPU node is two GPU cards. Ours is per render hour on one card. Those are different units and are deliberately never printed side by side on this page: a job spread over five nodes bills five nodes, so the only honest comparison is the cost of a completed job, which their cost estimator gives directly.

Knowing the cost

Fox Renderfarm

  1. 1Render frames locally to get an average frame time
  2. 2Enter your own GPU model and card count
  3. 3Enter frames, frame time and node count
  4. 4Read five prices, one per membership tier

Their estimator states that actual fees may vary, and recommends signing up and spending the $25 coupon on test frames for a more accurate figure.

One number, before you spend anything, and it does not change with how much you have spent before.

Where blender.farm wins

  • One rate from the first job. No membership tier, no accumulated spend, nothing to unlock. Their lowest published rate is reached at ten thousand dollars of recharge.
  • The card is named. Every render here is a full RTX 5090 with 32 GB. Their pricing pages name no GPU model at all, and describe a node only as two cards.
  • You know the cost before you spend anything. The add-on reads your .blend and estimates time and cost. No local test render, no coupon spent on test frames to find out.
  • Priced per render hour, not per node hour. A job spread across cards is billed for the render time it used, not for the number of machines that were standing by. Automatic splitting is in the add-on next.
  • Your exact Blender version. Matched to your file, or the job is refused rather than approximated. Geometry nodes behave the way they do locally.
  • Billing only while Blender runs. Uploading, downloading and sitting idle cost nothing.
  • Frames stream back as they finish, so a wrong camera shows up in frame two, not at the end.

What they cover and we do not

  • Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Houdini and Unreal, with Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift and the rest. We run stock Blender on purpose.
  • CPU rendering at scale, alongside GPU. We are GPU only.
  • A large fleet and sixteen years of operating history, with support built for studio pipelines. We are new and we answer on Discord.
  • TPN accreditation, ISO 27001 and NDAs on request. If your client requires an audited pipeline, that is a real reason to pick them and we do not have an answer to it.
  • A genuinely good rate at volume. A studio that has spent ten thousand dollars renders at $0.90 per node hour. If that is you, the tiers work in your favour.
  • Blender 2.63 and later. We start at 4.4.3.
  • A $25 trial coupon, against our 10 credits. What it buys in render hours depends on your tier and how many nodes your job takes, so we do not state it in hours.

One rate, on a named card, from your first render.
